Volunteer

The Advocacy Centre is continually seeking skilled, experienced people to staff our reception/greeting area; we ask for a commitment of one half day per week.

As the first point of contact for the community, the reception area is a vital part of the Centre. Our volunteers greet clients, answer phones, provide resource and referral information, do various other office related tasks and generally support us in more ways than we can describe.

If you are interested and have some time to offer, please come down and fill out a volunteer registration form. There will be a short screening process to ensure your compatibility with the Centre. We can promise our unending gratitude and a warm, companionable environment in a place that is committed to social justice and to assisting people who are facing difficult circumstances in their lives.

We are located at 205 Hall  Street in Nelson and can be reached by phone at 250.352.5777 or by email at advocacycentre@nelsoncares.ca.
